Description

The most compelling voices often seem to reveal something strangely human inside their polished synthetic texture.

Ilya Minin (Eli) describes the voice’s “luxurious and eerie bass” as the perfect fit for the songs with mysterious, ritualistic vibes. The timbre became at once dark, memorable, and unexpectedly lively

Etymology & Concept

  • The name “イーライ (Iirai)” stretches “Eli” into a delayed echo, like a voice arriving late from a metal tunnel.
  • Nicknamed 怪人ハサミ (Kaijin Hasami, “Scissor Kaijin”), he is treated like a harmless urban legend inside Eli’s projects: a bass‑voiced trickster who cuts out awkward silences and bad takes instead of anything violent.

Visual Design

  • Messy orange hair, freckled face, big green eyes, and a slightly sleep‑deprived grin that makes him look like someone who has been up for three nights working on a single track.
  • Steampunk goggles, oversized scissors, gear motifs on his pants, tool belts and straps, and a patched shirt and vest—somewhere between mechanic, tailor, and ritual assistant.

Personality & Trivia

  • Talks fast, rambles about strange ideas, and bursts into glitched laughter, which contrasts with his deep, bone‑shaking singing voice.
  • Treats bad tuning and strange EQ as “timeline slips,” insisting that the project only needs one tiny cut to sound right again.
  • Rumours say his giant scissors can snip sounds and moments out of the air and paste them back as jump‑cuts in conversations or déjà‑vu loops in songs.

Voicebank Characterisation

  • Japanese CVVC voicebank focused on a low, warm male register with a slightly rough texture and eerie atmosphere, designed to sit between “human” and “glitchy ritual” in mixes.
  • Works especially well in dark folk, industrial, and experimental tracks that leave room for bass resonance and long notes.
